That voice is your intuition, and it is far more potent than most of us realize.
Women are often trained to second-guess themselves, seek approval, or look outside for answers. But the truth is, you were born with an internal compass designed to guide, protect, and lead you toward what feels aligned and right for you.
When you learn to trust it, life begins to feel clearer, calmer, and more directed. Not perfect, yet it’s easier to create your journey in life.
My Journey
When I was diagnosed with cancer, something inside me whispered, Listen. So, I did. I slowed down, sat in stillness, and paid attention to the inner voice that had always been there, even when getting a diagnosis of cancer was definitely overwhelming.
As I leaned into that guidance, doors began to open, unexpected connections, ideas, and resources showed up at precisely the right time. It felt as if the world was responding to my willingness to trust myself.
One of those doors was Radical Remission: Surviving Cancer Against All Odds by Kelly A. Turner, PhD — a community centered around integrative healing and the ten lifestyle and emotional factors that many survivors used on their path back to health. Finding that program wasn’t luck; it was alignment. I was open, I was listening, and my intuition led me to what felt like the next right step.
Four years later, my body was cancer-free.
I don’t claim that my journey will look the same for everyone; every path is deeply personal. But I do believe this with my whole heart: taking the time to listen to my inner voice guided me to the tools, support, and healing approach that my body needed. My intuition became my compass, and following it changed everything.
What Is Intuition?
Intuition is inner wisdom that doesn’t require a logical explanation. It’s that sense that rises before the mind has time to think. You might not be able to explain it, but you feel it.
Signs your intuition is speaking:
- A sudden pull toward something or someone
- A gut feeling, tightening or relaxing
- A sense of yes or no without a reason
- Goosebumps or warmth in the body
- A quiet clarity that doesn’t push — it simply knows
Where fear is loud, intuition is gentle. Where doubt spirals, intuition is steady. Where the mind debates, intuition has already decided, learning to trust that knowing is like reclaiming a superpower you forgot you had.
How to Strengthen and Trust Your Intuition
Like a muscle, intuition grows with use. A few ways to build that connection:
- Get Quiet Enough to Hear It. Intuition rarely shouts over chaos. Even 5 minutes of silence a day can help you tune in. Consistently taking the time to listen to yourself, and slowly increasing that personal time with yourself, as you see the benefit of quiet time.
- Notice How Your Body Speaks. Your body often knows before your mind does. Does a situation feel right or tight? Warm or uneasy?
- Stop Needing Proof Before You Act. Intuition doesn’t always come with logic attached.
Sometimes you have to move first, and understanding comes later. - Journal Your Hits. Write down the moments you knew something was off, or right, before you had evidence. You’ll quickly see how often your intuition was spot-on.
- Practice Small Decisions. Start simple: Which route feels right today? Which conversation is calling me? What does my gut say? Small daily choices build trust for bigger ones.
Why Intuition Is a Woman’s Hidden Strength
Women have been sensing energy, emotions, and truth long before language could define it. We feel the room shift. We catch a tone change. We notice what isn’t said. Yet we often use it to support others, not necessarily our own well-being.
- Intuition is an ancient experience — and when we honor it, we reclaim something sincerely ours.
- Instead of waiting for validation, you become your own confirmation.
- Instead of fearing the unknown, you navigate it from within.
- Instead of shrinking, you step forward, knowing, I trust myself.
That is your power — grounded, wise, and inner knowing.
Your Thoughts
Have you ever decided because something inside you just knew? Or maybe you feel unsure how to connect with that inner guidance at all. Many of us hold different ideas about what intuition is and how it shows up in our lives, and that’s okay. The real question is: are you willing to strengthen your inner listening and build your intuitive “muscle”?
Women’s Group Topic
This is a powerful discussion for women to acknowledge and support their inner voices. Start your time together with 10 minutes of quiet, deep breathing to engage your inner voices.
Here are some questions to start the discussion:
- What does intuition feel like for you, physically, emotionally, or spiritually?
- Can you remember a time your intuition was correct? What happened when you followed it?
- What gets in the way: fear, doubt, people-pleasing, needing proof?
- How would life feel if you trusted yourself 10% more this week?
- What is one intuitive decision you can act on today?
Close the discussion by inviting each woman to share one inner message or nudge she wants to follow, even if it’s small. When women speak their intuition aloud, they permit others to trust their own.
