Support is so important in our lives, and the many ways we receive it are priceless. I have many different relationships, though I found that the women seem to understand and support me differently. For that, I am grateful.
We interact with women in different relationships: family, friends, work, acquaintances, and casual connections. We need to connect, and our relationships with other women make a difference in how we feel about ourselves.
Are your relationships with other women important to you?
Family
We can receive support from a mother, sister, or wife in this category. Not all family relationships are supportive all the time, yet we belong, and that alone can be supportive to us in life.
Friends
Do you give thanks to your friends? How would you express your friendships, and what do they provide you with regularly? My women friends are core to my well-being; shared laughter, tears, and stories have added much to my life.
Work
I worked in Human Resources for many years, and the employees most engaged are those that form strong working relationships. Women who support each other in the workplace find they are more productive and effective in their work.

Do you reach out to support other women in your workday?
Acquaintances
In the communities I frequent, I know women yet don’t necessarily have a close relationship. I recognize I’m part of a community of women with a shared connection with these individuals.
Casual Connections
While waiting at the car dealership, I started talking with a woman sitting next to me. The discussion started with her commenting she liked my scarf. A small reaching out evolved into a comfortable conversation about children, grandchildren, and our separate journeys in life. Our life journeys brought the conversation around different cultures, communication, and how we all need to increase our listening skills.
Though the woman lives in my neighborhood, I may never see her again, yet she left me with a different view on cultures and their impact on us. Though a brief connection, two women connected and listened to each other.
Gratitude
Why an article around the women in our lives? It’s important for each of us to realize that we have wealth in those relationships. Do you show gratitude to the women that share the road of life with you?
Your Thoughts
How do you support the women’s connections in your life? Are you grateful for them, and do you let them know? How have the different women impacted you?
Women’s Group Topics
You are in a women’s group, so it probably is safe to assume that you help each other and share time and energy. Do you listen to the other women and let them know you listen to them?
Be well,
