Do You Celebrate?

March 21st, 2010 in Entertainment, Health[ No Comments ]

Normally I’m in my office around 1:30 o’clock in the afternoon, busy working and not at all in touch with the outside world.

On St. Patrick’s Day, I had the gift of being on the bus around this time and all around me was a ‘sea of green.’  In New York City, the St. Patrick’s Day Parade is a fun way to spend the afternoon.    The weather was beautiful…sunny, warm and perfect for people to come out of their offices and celebrate.

Do You Know How to Play Hooky?

April 26th, 2009 in Entertainment, Friends, Personal Growth[ 4 Comments ]

When I was young, playing hooky was fun…as long as we weren’t caught.  Well, today I want to be caught doing just that…as often as possible.   Playing hooky means I’m stepping out of the normal routine and doing something different.   Just thinking about it makes me smile.

My last sojourn into stepping out of the routine was last Friday.   I normally work a full day with one of my clients in New York City.    While I wasn’t spontaneous with my hooky antics, I did plan for an afternoon play date with my friend.

101 Simple Pleasures

November 7th, 2008 in Entertainment[ No Comments ]

My day focuses on my ‘To Do’ list…how much can be completed before I tuck myself into bed.   Can you relate to this?    I’ve decided there will always be too much to do.  The question is “what am I doing?”

What I realized today is that I do need to make a living.  Yet I don’t need to give up my precious time and energy worrying about work when I’m home?  Where did they say ‘worrying’ makes me a better person?   Nay, it just makes me anxious.  It’s all about how I want to live my life.  I want to smile more, laugh at another person’s silly jokes, listen with my heart and enjoy the simple pleasures in my life.
